Certified Grief Educator & Coach

The work behind Griellea did not begin with a certification or a textbook. It began with a loss, and with the long, quiet education that comes from carrying grief without anyone to help you understand it.

I experienced my first losses early in life, and then lost someone at the center of my world. Life came to an abrupt halt, and time seemed to stand still while the rest of the world continued on. Grief affected every area of my life: work, school, relationships, and health. It was a struggle to carry on and keep up with it all. No one around me seemed to fully grasp what grief really was. I did what most people do. I kept going.

But grief does not leave simply because you continue to move. It can be felt in both the body and mind. It reshapes how you think, how you relate to people, how you make sense of ordinary days. For years, I lived with its effects before I had the knowledge or language to recognize what was happening.

The understanding came later, when I began to seek it deliberately. I studied grief extensively, learning from every credible resource I could find, and eventually trained formally under one of the world's leading grief experts. I became a Certified Grief Educator because I had learned what it means to grieve without support, and I did not want other people to carry that alone.

Griellea is the practice built from that journey: lived experience of how deeply grief can affect a life, and the professional training to offer the informed support I once needed myself. It is for people whose grief has been real, significant, and too often left without the care or guidance it deserves.

About

Why this work

Grief is one of the most universal human experiences, and yet one of the least understood. Many people who are grieving have never been given any meaningful framework for what is happening to them. They receive sympathy, and then life expects them to continue as though grief should ease on its own. When it does not, they may begin to wonder if something is wrong with them, and why life still feels so different.

That is the gap Griellea exists to fill: the non-clinical space between comfort given by friends and family, and services received in a clinical setting. Griellea offers a different kind of support for people who are experiencing a natural grief response after loss, and need more than reassurance that time will make it easier.

Grief, in all its forms, deserves to be met with knowledge, patience, and care. Loss does not follow a tidy schedule or timeline. It is not a problem to be solved or gotten over like a seasonal cold. The grief a person experiences is valid and proportionate to who they have loved and what they have lost.
